Closing in one the final details. Today I dropped the fireproof data plate off at the engravers. Now that I have weighed the plane I have all of the data to place on the plate. I used California Marking Service in Hermosa Beach since they did such a great job on Walter Tondu's data plate. Next I started to rivet on the front deck> I used the 5" squeezer yoke to reach all I could and will shoot the rest when ever Walter has a chance to come over and help. Now that the firewall is complete I installed the cowl and it still fits, Just a few more tweaks on the joints and it will be done. I need to get the Fab complete and several other details but I am closing in on the finish. It really looks like a complete airplane now. |
 | | After the engraver gets finished I will install on the side of the fuselage under the left side of the horizontal stabilizer. | |
 | | I squeezed all of the rivets I could reach | |
 | | Another view. | |
 | | Then I installed the cowl to check fit, man are those hinge pins tight! | |
 | | Looking pretty sleek. | |
